Abstract

Purpose: This Predicative relationship study is associated with identifying and examining factors that influence tuberculosis patients¡¯ quality of life (QOL), which could result in improvement of their QOL.
Methods: Participants consisted of 236 patients in the study were those aged 20 years or older who were hospitalized for more than one month at tuberculosis hospitals in the cities of K and M and who were on anti-tuberculosis drugs or visited the hospital via outpatient treatment.
Results: The most significant determinants of the tuberculosis patients¡¯ QOL are depression, social support and self-efficacy. Validity and reliability of this results were 50.2%.
Conclusion: Lower depression level and higher social support and self-efficacy level contribute to improvement of the tuberculosis patient¡¯s QOL. Therefore, development of health programs aiming for reducing depression level and enhancing social support and self-efficacy level should be considered in order to improve tuberculosis patient¡¯s QOL.
